Programme Overview

The MKES Institute of Management Studies & Research (MKES-IMSR) offers undergraduate programme in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) as a platform to prepare young minds with a positive attitude for excellent performance and committed service. It also provides the right nurturing ground to enable students to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.

The curriculum for the three year graduate programme (6 Semesters), has been designed to enable the students to get an overview of the various aspects related to launching and managing a business effectively; as well as giving them an opportunity to specialize in a functional area of management that they would like to pursue in their careers.

Students can choose to add a 4th year to their education to obtain a BBA (Hons.) degree in accordance with NEP regulations. Students opting for BBA (Hons.) degree will be in an advantageous position to complete their Post-Graduation (MBA) in ONE year with MKES-IMSR.

Aimed at the holistic development of the students, the Department facilitates organizing/participating in various fests. It also conducts many curricular and co-curricular activities on a regular basis. Social responsibility is a thrust area and students are encouraged to participate in community development initiatives.

Programme Structure

The BBA programme provides students an opportunity for interdisciplinary learning through various compulsory courses in management and accounting, and elective courses from the streams of Psychology, Sociology, Law, Media Studies, and Computer Applications. The programme focuses on developing the students and equipping them to meet the managerial challenges of the 21st century. To ensure success in the workplace we focus on developing skills like team building, conflict management and leadership.

MKES-IMSR facilitates organizing/participating in various fests. It also conducts many curricular and co-curricular activities on a regular basis. Social responsibility is a thrust area and students are encouraged to participate in community development initiatives. Participation in these activities helps to achieve the holistic development of the students.

Exit Options:

• The students who successfully complete ONE year/ 2 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded Certificate in Business Administration.
• The students who successfully complete TWO years/ 4 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded Diploma in Business Administration.
• The students who successfully complete THREE years/ 6 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA)
• The students who successfully complete FOUR years/ 8 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded an Honours Degree in Business Administration (BBA)

Teaching Pedagogy

Based on the concept of “Blended Learning,” MKES-IMSR believes in providing active learning experiences through an interactive learning process. Learning is enhanced through many pedagogical tools like case studies, presentations, internships, research projects, industrial visits, and guest lecturers by the industry experts.

Eligibility for Admission

1. Candidates who have passed Two Year higher secondary course (HSC) examination (viz., 10+2 or its equivalent from any State, ITI, Diploma etc.) in any discipline with minimum score of 50% are eligible for admission into this program.
2. Candidates who have passed the necessary entrance examination (e.g. CET conducted by the State CET Cell) for admission to BBA programme

Objectives of the Course

1. To develop the skills required for the application of business concepts and techniques learned in the classroom at the workplace.
2. To provide competent and technical skills personnel to the industry in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Business Analytics.
3. To enhance the employability skills of the management students.
4. To encourage entrepreneurship among students pursuing education in the field of Business Administration.
5. To empower students for pursuing professional courses like MBA.
6. To ensure holistic development of Business administration students.

Career Options after BBA

Lucrative career prospects and handsome salary packages are offered to students after completing BBA. Management graduates well versed in various branches of management and also possessing skills and qualities like decision-making ability, strategic thinking, analytical skills, along with ample conceptual clarity can potentially pave his/her way into the leading corporate hubs and business houses in India. Thus, the career options after BBA can enable a student to work in just about any company with profiles such as Human Resources, finance, marketing, administration, logistics and supply chain management, business analytics.

Since entrepreneurship is a vital component of the BBA, students always have the option to launch their own start-ups and businesses. Many students consider the PGDM a prerequisite before commencing their own businesses because of reasons, such as gaining insight into the business world, getting direct mentorship and guidance from industry leaders, networking purposes, and developing textbook knowledge about business acumen. Thus, entrepreneurship is a sound career path after BBA as well.
